I really don’t get what is happening here. Or I interpreted It right and it’s just ironic.

Most of the time the reaction depends on age groups. Little kids can get scared around a guy with a badge and gun. Teens just avoid the mall cops just because (and possibly get away with something). Adults just ask them a couple questions and nod toward the cop.

Poor SPG never gets any respect from other people.
