OK, there’s simple and then there’s simple. The irony is that Rick has 33 years of journalistic experience, and he can’t wrap up the demise of his industry and his position in it any better than that?
well, i have to say: i’ve just been laid off / taken a buyout / whatever you want to call it after 18 years of working in newspapers, and this sums it up pretty well. the demise of newspapers stuns journalists – men and women both – into silence.
