Rita in… um…. “real life”, as opposed to “Peanuts life” does embody Lucy…
You don’t have to put to fine a point on it to see that it’s a match.
Nobody calls Jay “Charlie” in this parody, only “Jay” …
So he only needs to look enough like Charlie Brown to get the idea across that Rita/Lucy is going to pull away the football…
which is quite obvious….
Â
I think the characterizations are perfect, and whether a Jay infusion makes Charlie look a little like Schroeder, or any other Schulz character, is beside the point.
After all, Schulz’s style was deceptively simple. And characters in any comic strip tend to look a bit alike anyway, and more like each other than characters from a different artist, just from being drawn by the same hand….
so ALL the Peanuts kids will have a bit of similarity if you look hard enough.
Don’t bother… Just stop when you get where you’re going.

For a minute I thought I was reading Peanuts and Lucy had changed her hair a little. And it was Schroeder instead of Charlie Brown.

Always fun to see tributes to “Peanuts” and other classic comic strips. Well done.
