Australian schools are clearly more tolerant than those in the U. S. Nowadays, having a pocket knife at a school function here will get you tossed out of school, if not into the slammer. It’s called “zero tolerance” but it means zero tolerance for risk coupled with even less common sense.

Ottod: Getting that way in Oz too. I lived through being exposed to many of the things that are banned today. Perhaps, just perhaps, banning these things and making absurd rules because people now will not take responsibility for their own stupidity is only treating a symptom of the real problem.

For those affecionados of asian restaurants: the Beau Thai Restaurant (yes, it really existed here in a Melbourne suburb) has closed its doors for the last time. Just thought you would like to know.
