Poncho overlooked the true, secret puppet-master of the house: fish.
Cats do NOT let humans touch their bellies. That is a number 1 instinctive defensive maneuver, to curl upwards all claws extended, hissing and scratching the hand that touches the belly.
That cat must be doped on Catnip. Otherwise it would have given Carmen deep lacerations.
Oy….Carmen apparently felt the need to change back into her winter wardrobe.
