A table is covered when it’s got patrons at it. 8 covers would be 8 parties at 8 tables at once.
So will they panic because it’s so busy or because there is no one there?
Oh, so that is the origin of cover charge! Or is it?
If biz is slow why worry about covering 8 tables at once. This Sat. help may not be what we’re thinkin’.
Everyone: Thanks.It’s odd. I spent two or three years working in a restaurant while I was in college, and I never heard that term before now.
