    Ah yes here it is. Now I can put the peanut butter on the trap and set it next to the wall. Just as I hear the snap as it springs shut, I yell

    Since “were” is derived from an Old English word meaning “man” (not “male”, specifically, but “human being”), a were mouse has to be either a man who turns into a mouse or a mouse that turns into a man.
