How does one even get barred from a new establishment without it being opened yet?

The owner of the new pub has obviously studied military strategy and is making a preemptive strike to avoid a prolonged conflict.

    Off topic comment:

Dodged a bullet here in East Texas when Hurricane Harvey came onshore and weakened to a Category One with winds of “only” 85 mph. The problem now is that they think it’s going to sit down and make heavy rains for days, causing catastrophic flooding.

I think “The Andy Capp Arms” would be a great name for a pub. A picture of Andy holding two pints would make a good sign.

British pubs certainly have some interesting names. Quite creative.
