Roger: Andy, your mother's only coming for Thanksgiving because you suggested the idea to her. If it's too stressful for you to have her here, you have no one to blame but yourself.
Andy: You could have tried to stop me.
I feel the same way every time we have my mother over for dinner. Take Christmas for an example. To my mother, Christmas dinner is baked ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and dinner rolls. She couldn’t believe I had the audacity to serve grilled steak instead of baked ham one year. In my mind, grilled New York strip steak is better than baked ham. Then there was the year we served an assortment of slow-smoked meats that I smoked with apple wood. Ham was one of the meats. She still asked where the BAKED ham was. The rest of my family certainly seemed to enjoy the smoked meats. The best was last year when my wife served lasagna. My mother stated lasagna was not a traditional Christmas dinner to which my wife replied that it was now because it would be OUR traditional Christmas meal.
Still much less payback than if HE had been the one to suggest she come for dinner. I’m surprised it wasn’t one of the kids who did it, considering Andy cooks things that would make a hardcore vegan hurl. One more thing she only has herself to blame for.

Am I ever confused … I thought that her name was spelled ‘Andi’ but I see that I am wrong. Oops!
These are the kind of observations that earns the spouse saying them endless paybacks.
