@Kab Buch: He shouldnât apologize. We all know that wars are stupid. But mankind been doing wars since dawn of creation! So what does that tell us there?
Mr. Davis said,, that yesterdays comic was drawn nearly a year ago and had no idea what day that particular strip was going to be printed, it was unfortunate the computer chose yesterday to release it.
I think yesterdayâs strip had a cogent if inadvertent message. The spider teacher was at least trying to teach her pupils about the meaning of âNational Stupid Day.â I wonder how many teachers in our country gave any kind of lesson, no matter how brief, about the significance of Veterans Day? To many people, even adults, Veterans Day or any other holiday is just a day off or an excuse for mattress stores to have a sale.
Ji2m - An excellent point lost on those that are so open-minded that their brains have fallen out.
Wars have never solved anything except for stopping Nazism, Communistic totalitarianism, Fascism and have only freed millions of people from oppression and tyranny! War can be horrible but sometimes is necessary to stop greater evil.
And regarding âFangââŠ
Are those leftover plastic teeth from Halloween?
How could Fang possibly be fast enough to catch anything with those unwieldy teeth?
Does he promise to tell the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth?
Is this his defense against a future courtship with a black widow?
Imagine his dental bills! If Fang gets a cavity, BOY - would that be painful!
Implants? Steroids? Lives too close to Chernobyl or 3-mile Island?
Was his mom ever frightened by a vampire movie?
Garfield could just grab Fang by his fangs and use him to swat the other spiderâŠ
Assuming what Mr Davis is saying about yesterdayâs comic to be true, then we have at least one member of the syndicate to directly blame for the timing. If this be the case, then I apologize for the comment I made to you, Mr Davis, and direct my comment to the syndicate person(s) responsible.

mjpankr said, about 5 hours ago I wonder how many teachers in our country gave any kind of lesson, no matter how brief, about the significance of Veterans Day?
Considering that all the schools around here had the day off - I would say not many. Unfortunate.
Well, we had school, Iâm a veteran who teaches in one of our schools, and our students were treated to a choir group of students singing patriotic songs and an awesome powerpoint. It interrupted a major big test, but I didnât mind. They did a great job, and it made me proud to teach at our school.
Before anyone should assume that nobody did anything out of the ordinary at school to remember our vets, maybe they should consider that their world is not the center of the universe.
And I think those teeth look fangtastic on fang! âș
We had record border lineups yesterday â all those Canadians going south to spend Remembrance Day Christmas shopping! Iâm glad Iâm not the only Canadian who was disgusted!
Oddly enough I wasnât offended by yesterdayâs strip, had no thought in my mind that the timing might be either inadvertent or ill-advised, and just enjoyed the irony of the strip for what it was. If anything - and you may count my peculiar sense of humor as the proximate cause - the timing made the strip more funny to me.
Said spider was no veteran of a foreign war or even a member of a persecuted minority under tyranny, thatâs for certain. He was just an arachnid without the sense to move out of a house âownedâ by a murderously arachnophobic cat. Well should he be remembered on National Stupid Day among spiders.
