    (usfellers is recognizing Hallowe’en)

G’day Jason, DryCula, JFristein, Ottod, Meggsiefan, Frank and all Meggsie’s mates.

Very reminiscent of a pop tune sung by Phil Harris in the 1940s. Ok, ok, so you weren’t around then and have never heard of Phil Harris. Amongst many of his pop numbers were ones titled ‘Deck Of Cards’ and ‘The Thing’ - you must have heard them if you have ever listened to nostalgic radio.

‘The Thing’ was about finding a box washed up on the shore and when the finder opened it he found a ‘bop-de-bop’ (by drums). He went on that he could find no use for it, nor could he get rid of it. Nobody ever found out what it was but radio stations all over the world ran competitions for the best answer to what The Thing was.

Now we wonder what Ginger has seen. From what what I have seen of soapies (and that is precious little) he needn’t have bothered to open his eyes in the first place.

Let soap these boring non-essentials, along with their unbelievably bad sitcom mates, eventually pass into obscurity.

There, I’ve said it, waited for years for this opportunity, thanks Ginger for the inspiration to do so.

surfstuff55: Omigosh, don’t tell me there is a 78 record I don’t have. Maybe you would know if it is the elusive one made very early in Spike Jones career where his group was named on the label as The Wacky Wacketeers?

At the peril of threatening marital bliss the search has begun to find it.

I actually managed to tape over some of my mom’s soaps with Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog-and I was six at the time.
