I’m assuming that Jim Scancarelli was the first “Gasoline Alley” artist to break the fourth wall so that the characters could visit ones from other strips, but can anyone point to the specific story where the concept was introduced?
Al Capp of Lil Abner borrowed the Tracy character in Fearless Fosdick.
All he has to do is to sit in the front. No suspects sit in front with the driver. (And he had to have ridden up there in the patrol car.
