Traditionally, southerners have been great soldiers. That’s why the confederacy lasted as long as it did. Today, I don’t know. My guess is they’ve lost much of that skill because there are fewer hunters among them than in the past. But any band of rag tags without advanced military hardware would be a mismatch with any national army. Even the North Koreans would wipe out the rag tags.
This is one reason why gun enthusiasts who think they can resist the federal government are delusional. I don’t care what sort of guns you have, the Feds would mop you up easily with their weapons, tactics, leadership, and technology.
