Bottlescope is right. The Russians used their tanks to train the dogs. Russian tanks used diesel……German tanks used gas. The dogs knew the difference and when released……ran right under the diesel smelling tanks they were trained to run under in doggie basic. At first they used a timed charge……dogs are fast…..they ran back to the handlers with the ticking bomb. No Russian tanks were harmed……need came about for new handlers. Later they used a immediately detonation charge. But the dogs kept running to the diesel smelling tanks they were trained to.
