Lio’s mistake was to sit reading his book right in front of that antiquated, vindictive TV. After his momentary seeming victory over the witless babble in panel 2, the TV in panel 3 has squashed our protagonist.
Of course, Lio is only a 2-D comic character to begin with, so being squashed flat should not faze him!
