    Children didn’t have long childhoods either. Lucky if they got 4 or 6 years before off to the factory or brothel or some such job. Children were looked upon as miniature adults.

    I do not know how much older Sadie is, than I am. But, I still remember, that, in the early 1950s, there were teenagers and I also remember all the news over radio and in the newspapers, of numerous bad teenagers being described as “juvenile delinquents.”
