Zonker: They used 'em for ballast. or paving bricks.

Okay, I’m tired of all the snide remarks. I’m coming out of the cupboard here and now: I like fruitcake, dammit! I know it’s unpopular, but I can’t be the only one. C’mon, let’s hear from the non-haters for a change!

The real problem comes when the fruitcake is allowed to dry out, whether by improper packaging, or simply by sitting on the shelf for a couple of years.
