I told my 10-yo grand-niece about my trip to FL when I visited friends and relatives, went to the beach, did a few tourist things. She said, “Why would you go to Florida and not go to Disney?”
When I was young, all my friends dreamed about going to Disneyland. My family didn’t vacation that way. Almost any free weekend, our parents took us camping and fishing. My scout troop went backpacking, canoeing and horseback riding. When I was 21, I finally made it to Disneyland. I was not impressed.
We went to Disney World when we were in our 40s, meh. But I have the distinction of going to Disney land 5 days after they opened it….yes, it (and I) is/are that old!!!
Been fortunate enough to go since Disney World opened in October 1971, I was born in February of that year. We went for Christmas. Thanksgiving is packed and decorated for Christmas, which means you’ll either love or hate it. Most days are busy though. If you go with your patience and your inner child you will enjoy yourself. And remember the cast members/workers do not make the rules, so please be kind. =)
My first visit to Disney was in 1972 and I thought I would love it forever. But when I took my kids there in the 90s, I found they had reworked or deleted some of the attractions that I loved. I don’t mind that they add new stuff, but I wish they had left the old stuff alone.
