For one full century after the end of the American Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan functioned as the enforcement arm of the Democrat party.
So I’m going to use what’s its faces math. The War of Southern Treason ended in 1865. If for one century the KKK was the enforcement arm of the Democratic Party, then KKK and the Dems stopped functioning with each other in 1965. We know the Voting Rights Act was passed in 1965 and signed by a Democratic President, LBJ.
So, for the it from Wy, American history ceased almost 53 years ago. Nothing has happened or is happening now that is worthy of our attention. There is no massive corruption in DC anymore. Students will not have to pay taxes on their scholarships because time ceased when Sandy Koufax was still pitching for the Dodgers. The elderly will still be allowed to deduct their medical expenses because Congress is filled with liberals after LBJ’s landslide.
1964 to present is a mere blink and the Earth is just a speck of dirt floating in the universe. But the simple fact is we are living in the present on this speck of dirt.
We now have government in power that sees nothing wrong in taking from the poor, the middle class, the young, the students, the elderly to give those who have the most even more.
But one person who was very happy with the words of the US President was the former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke, who just as quickly reacted on Twitter, thanking the President “for your honesty and courage.”“Thank you President Trump for your honesty & courage to tell the truth about #Charlottesville & condemn the leftist terrorists in BLM/Antifa,” was the full tweet from an account that is not verified by Twitter but appears to represent Duke and features videos apparently posted by and of him.
Trump used language familiar to the “alt-right” and white supremacists when he bemoaned “changing culture” that would results from the tearing down of statues honoring confederate generals like Robert E. Lee, who Trump equated with founding fathers like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, who were slave owners.
Hollywood’s been around for – what? 100 yrs? Sexual harassment went hand in hand with the Hollywood crowd, and it’s just now that it’s coming out???? To add to this, anyone of note is also getting pointed at. With all the spin doctor bullshit going on, how much is true (I’ll guess most of it) and how much of it is someone looking to boost their profile? Now I am afraid to ask a woman out for fear that I will say something “currently” wrong.
Some years ago the trendy thing was coming out as gay. Why did I need to know that on the front page?? How was that my business?? What new trend will spring up next year??

The resident of the Casper area has said I have not expressed regret or sympathy for the suffering of African-Americans under slavery or Jim Crow.
But the Noise from the Greenbelt hasn’t been discussing the suffering of African-Americans in our history. What he/she has been doing is using the history racism to systematically attack one political party in favor of another. To it, the history of racial injustice and suffering is nothing more than a political weapon.
Do you much mind that the cartoon where you hang out all day long every day “systematically attacks one political party in favor of another.”?
GT has never hid or denied his political preference. For those that don’t like or agree with Trudeau’s views, there is always Mallard Fillmore and Prickly City.
The fact that the it from Casper even posts unending political attacks on days that the strip has nothing to do with politics is indicative of his/her obsessive behavior. The fact that an agenda is more important than letting others enjoy the simple pleasures; the crazy uncle who starts screaming about politics at a 5 year old’s birthday party.
So it’s noble when done by Trudeau, but downright criminal when done by someone with whom you disagree?Hypocrite much?
First of all, GT is entertaining. Second, he is capable of discussing more than one topic. Over 47 years he has created characters and storylines that his readers have grown to know and cherish.
Only thing you have done is shown that you can repeat the same thing ad nauseam.
Voice is a voice in the wilderness… Comments such as the above, “For those that don’t like or agree with Trudeau’s views, there is always Mallard Fillmore and Prickly City,” make it clear that this comment section is a closed shop and other viewpoints are not welcome.
If Wyoming wants to criticize what Trudeau said in the cartoon, that’s perfectly fine. That is what the comments section is here for. I originally joined GoComics to post comments that disagreed with the views of strip State of the Union. But I discussed or criticized what the cartoon said. I did not go on every day and post the same thing over and over again even it had nothing to do with the cartoon.
also we had no problem as a country to send in the national guard to enforce federal segregation laws in Alabama. how come we can’t send in troops to enforce immigration laws in California?

How is hitting on someone sexual harassment? Depending on how you ‘hit’, it can be totally harmless.

First, if you haven’t yet, subscribe to the comic Lil’ Donnie by Norton. Excellent! Maybe Wacko can go there and troll more sentient people.

Somewhere around the time of the Voting rights act, the democratic elements that made up the extreme views switched parties.
