That’s one slick joke.

If every product had its own fleet of wholesale distributors, it’s no wonder the post-war economy was at full employment.

Considering the vehicle he was driving, fully loaded and crashed into a wood telephone pole, the driver (in his natty truck driver uniform) should have been dead, or near dead. Those old cars/trucks were not safe in a crash at all…

Laugh now, Nancy, but when that stuff hits the sewers…well, that’ll make ’em NICE and regular!

Nancy’s dietary habits regularly lead to castor oil doses.

Now they can buy a truck with a door on the back.

Since he was in the city limits of Three Rocks, I would suppose he wasn’t going very fast, and it doesn’t take much of a jolt to break bottles of castor oil, and that’s why Nancy is so pleased with, a shipment of castor oil was not delivered that day.

I don’t get the joke. Can someone please explain?

I just hate these ‘toons that aren’t true to life!

It’s very possible he had stopped to make a delivery and he got out and didn’t set his parking brake. Then the truck rolled away and hit the poll. Bad for him but he made one little kid happy.

This Bushmiller guy is as good as Olivia. And I remember reading Nancy as far back as 1969.

You’d think having watched a certain Tom and Jerry short would have clued me in this strip’s joke, but it didn’t. Oops!
