I used to do kettle work for The Salvation Army for two consecutive years.

I contribute all I can to the Salvation Army. Not only does most of their fundraising actually go to the folks that need it, but they literally saved my son’s life at one of their Adult Rehabilitation Centers. Merry Christmas to all.

My charitable contributions tend to be in the form of put on some PPE and help out at Habitat for Humanity. I love working side by side with some of the families who will eventually move into these homes. One person in particular had been working at a dollar store for years, poor pay, poor hours. Last I heard from her, she was putting her H4H hours and skills into a resume to become an apprentice carpenter.

They don’t seem to care that the donations go to organizations that discriminate against LGBTQ people and deny services to brown people for fear that they might be undocumented. Remember, the Salvation Army is a church, like Baptists and Catholics and Lutherans and Mormons.
