You know what I think? Animorphs (at least partially) copied this when Tobias permanently gets trapped as a hawk forever. Tobias and Calvin actually have a LOT in common. Both are super into dinosaurs. Both are bullied constantly. Both are sometimes in their own world. Both have blond hair. And both have changed into other animals (although the difference is, Calvin has to use a machine, and Tobias has the power) and both got stuck in the body of a bird in doing so. Coincidence? I think not! The only differences between this and Animorphs would be a) Calvin turned into an owl. Tobias turned into a red-tailed hawk. b) Calvin escaped his morph—I mean, Transmogrification… and Tobias didn’t. (But [SPOILER] Tobias got his morphing power back later in the series, and could even morph back to his old self.) I think Tobias was based off, if not copied, of Calvin! BUT HEY—THAT’S JUST A THEORY… A COMIC THEORY! (Apologies to MatPat)
