Drag the kid to whichever big box store is nearest, into the music department, and show him the rows of CDs for sale. Tell him, yes, they had CDs when I was younger AND THEY STILL DO!! And if your music is on CDs, or vinyl for that matter, you have no problem accessing them if your phone dies or the internet goes down AGAIN. A CD player (or record player) and power source and its there.
Yes, I live in an area where internet service can be spotty. I have a friend who lives in an area where internet service can be occasionally found. But I have a boom box (from the ’80s) that works with batteries or a plug.
I need a new record player, though, mine died in the last move.

Certificates of deposit (CD) have been around for quite some time now. In fact many of them are more mature than your father.

Tony’s question for today is, strangely…. “Do you?”
Do I what, Tony?
I didn’t, if you mean did I have to have a kid…. nor did I do it.
I was definitely alive for music cd’s… not that I own many.
As for whatever else you’re asking whether I do…..
that’s for me to know and you to…. um… not know.
Actually, this is kinda backward….
Elliot’s question is sorta implying that Pete is young, not old.
Would been worse if he asked “Dad, did they have movies yet when you were born?”
I think I asked my Mom once if they still had dinosaurs when she was little.
X … wish I had some of that kind!

“Yes. Some have data and pictures on it, a lot music – and some of them even movies!
And – look and learn – that mobile in your room when you were little?
It’s made from AOL-CDs and the like. Early internet."

Heck, we had a few 78 records. (You young whipper snappers will probably have to Google that.

Peter, it takes 2 to procreate, it’s not entirely Peg’s fault. As for your question, Tony, yes, I do have a daughter, she’s 43. Why do you ask?

It’s hard to have perspective on the time before one’s birth. I’ve been working on it most of my life.

In Ancient Rome a father had the legal right to kill his male children until they were legally proclaimed adults.
