How do you think I got through life onboard ship in the Navy? Three things you do first when you check in onboard: Make friends with the corpsman (doc), disbursing clerk (paymaster), and the cook. Oh yeah and find a superior with the same interests (motorcycles, surfing, etc). Fraternization is a no no in the USN but hey if you two happen to meet up on a sunday ride or the surf is up, well..
And DON’T hook up with a member of the opposite sex. Just don’t.
