I don’t know how to put this in a manner that doesn’t make me sound like a racist jerk, but I notice these things. When I was a wee lad in the 60s, an inter-racial couple was a startling thing, like someone dying their hair purple or something. Now both are commonplace. Nothing at all wrong with that. But lately I have noticed a lot of ads with “mixed” couples— not as an anomaly, not to startle or be bold or attention-grabbing, but just being. That’s a good thing, that’s encouraging in these times, but it seems that there is a subtle push to (here we go) “normalize” mixed couples, as there seems to be to throw in openly LGBT couples. I approve, I encourage, I am just pointing out the phenomenon. Does it seem that way to anyone else? It’s like when Harry Belafonte was hired for some role that wasn’t envisioned as a black character, he just fit and they went with him and he was Harry Belafonte, not a black man playing the character. The goal is to not make it something to comment on.

I never thought I’d have a reason to say this…
But, as of March, 2018…..
Despite his overconfident Lothario expression in panels 1 and 2…..

Moondog has a date? He never seemed very interested in ladies.

Moondog’s date is probably a barmaid at a local pub. Moondog’s alter ego is Slydog.

Monty never married because his in-laws couldn’t have children.

First time I’ve ever seen a U-turn in a tunnel of love. Literally, anyway. Plenty of times figuratively.

I think moondog would have better luck.
