I went through this a few months ago with my best friend of 3 decades and cancer. Like Joanie, my bud was calm and uncomplaining the whole time until the end, but I was and still am a train wreck. I hope the pain goes numb soon. I know the emptiness never will.

An artist I knew from the DC area died of an illness they never quite figured out. Their best guess was that it was a form of Mad Cow disease.
