This is one of my favorite Cul-de-Sac strips!

A couple of months ago I saw a Mom and little girl in the grocery store go by the lobster tank. The little girl said the lobsters were “mean and scary and those bands are on them to keep them from getting people.” The Mom said “no, those are because they like to pinch each other. Maybe I should try that with you and your brother.” I passed them again a little while later in one of the aisles and the little girl was still talking about the scary lobsters.

To some, a dream, to others a nightmare, says Merlin the magician.

Lobsters don’t have their eyes on stalks. Crabs do.

One of my favorites, mostly because my sibs and I were very much like that. Petey’s ‘Doom’ chant always gives me a laugh.

All of Richard Thompson’s FBOW strips are precious. This is one of the standout ones for me, and seems to showcase those two siblings’ personas perfectly.

Remember Petey, Jehovah in the Original Latin starts with an “i”…

I think it would be worth it to hire a babysitter on shopping day.

Maybe Madeline should consider leaving the kids at home with a sitter while she goes shopping. I, Sisyphos, can sympathize with that “it’s like pushing a truck” thing….
