Well it is snowing here so I will use my patented snow propulsion system to launch some your way Dry. No need to thank me I know the sudden cold avalanche that plops upon your head will ease the heat of your day.
All the birds and squirrels have come out of the woods to chow down at or on the ground around my feeders.
Never fear Dry, my launch system keeps the snow encapsulated in a chilled container that dissolves when it makes contact, which in this case happens to be your sweet, lovely head.
If JFri gets snow, I am sure he won’t mind sharing it with you too Dry. Never fear, we both believe in spreading the white stuff to those of you who are snow deprived.
Cleo you’re such a sweet talker, you! (And a BS’er!) You knew when you said “sweet, lovely head” you would be able to get away with sending all that snow, didn’t you?
If I become scarce it is because we are supposed to be getting 50 MPH winds and that could knock our power out. So…send out search parties laden down with Booker’s and plenty of comfort foods. :-)
Hi Shika I was just watching the Weather Channel. Yes, he’s in for some, I believe. His “evil” twin is in for rain. Me, I’m loving this! One more day of it, and then I guess we bid adieu! Sigh.
The snow has stopped and only amounted to enough for one transport to Dry’s noggin, but it is getting colder and we still have the promise of wind. I personally would rather have snow than wind. How is your weather Shika?
No my dear Dry, it is your heart that is big, your noggin is cute and just a wee bit damp. It has dropped to 20 degrees. It is going to be a cold night. I hope we keep our power.
So do I cleo because I have a very important question to ask. And YOU ARE SO SWEET, MY NEKKID MAN!
Since you cook everything, and seem to be a MASTER CHEF, I have to cook a vegan Field Roast Hazelnut Cranberry Roast at 425 degrees for 45 mins. and a 7# turkey breast at 325 for 2 1/2 hours. I emailed the company about the vegan roast just now. Do you think if I cooked the vegan roast Wed. night, and re-heated it on Thurs. that would be okay? Or don’t you have a clue? :-D
Dry, I had never heard of your field roast so I googled it and it sounds wonderful, but if you are using puff pastry like the recipe I saw recommends, I would not cook it the night before. If it was a pie crust I think it would be okay, but puff pastry is very delicate and could get soggy. I would be more likely to cook the turkey the night before and under cook it a bit and reheat it the next day.
I am enthralled with the vegetarian dish and think I will try to make it if I can locate the recipe. (unless it’s as big a pain as beef wellington0.
Oh gee Cleo! I was hoping you would say the opposite!
Is it okay to reheat the turkey at 425 degrees? And for how long?
You don’t have to make the recipe, you can buy one. He bought it at Wegman’s Grocery Store, which I doubt you have out there, they are big here on the East Coast though. But I’ll bet one of your other stores would have it. Field Roast is the brand name, which I guess you figured out! :-)
Yeah, it’s puff pastry. Last year he bought a simple one, and I could do them all together! His turning vegan works out okay most of the time, most people don’t understand what eating vegan is, but sometimes it gets difficult!
What about using a BBQ to cook the turkey breast with indirect heat? It is too bad that it is the breast instead of dark meat because the breast dries out so easily. I would be reluctant to cook the turkey at 425 as it would probably overcook the meat on the outside. My suggestion would be to either do the BBQ method, or cook the turkey the day before and serve it at room temp, but I myself would BBQ the turkey. Even if you cooked it the day before but undercooked it you could finish it off on the BBQ.
Another thought is to cook the turkey before the Field roast and wrap it in tinfoil then kick up the oven to 425 and cook the vegetarian dish. The turkey may be cool, but it won’t be cold. Use gravy to warm it up if someone has a problem. If you cook the turkey and wrap it in tinfoil under cook it slightly as it will continue to cook while warm and wrapped.
My bbq would never cook a turkey breast! Mine is just a simple charcoal. I could cook it the night before and re-heat at a a lower temp when the Field Roast is done. Well, I’ll figure something out! I always do!
doggie bath time. then tabby bath time. sigh so tired morning is gonna come early tomorrow. going to the vet time to fix my poor little boy trip trip in the pic. :’( hes not gonna be happy.

Dry my BBQ is charcoal and it doesn’t hamper my cooking indirect foods. If your BBQ is small, it might though.
Good luck sweetie, I am sure your guests are going to love your food and the company. My key for my cooking is get them loaded on Booker’s ahead of time. :-}
Don’t fall asleep Nekkid Man! I guess it is that time! I was googling various subjects and REALLY lost track of the time! I’ll be heading out soon too!

FHIG, you know that when one is so hot any snowfall upon the head is going to feel like a warm spring shower. Try it, I insist.
I guarantee at least one of us won’t be disappointed.

I can’t even taste it, with the hazelnuts in it! Hope cooking them in the same oven doesn’t cause a problem. I’m sure he never thought of that!
