Reminds me of when Gooddog Range brought us the squirrel he caught and, in the catching, inadvertently killed. He very gently brought it to us and laid it down, looking up at us, for all the world saying “I’m so sorry; I think I broke it. Can you fix it??” He was a Border Collie: herder, not hunter.
