G’day Jason, Dry, JFri, Ottod, Meggsiefan, Frank and all Meggsie’s mates.*
Ginger, your remark reminds me of the schooldays reader in which there was a story about a man who dug a hole in the road to get a pile of stones high enough for a lantern to show there was a hole in the road.
Dry: Yes, so they think. What about the destruction of the environment where they extract the materials for all these things. Maybe windmills are not solar powered?? but the extraction of rare earth minerals for solar power is a greatly understated problem, not to mention the exploitation of those who work in the mines.
Perhaps the answer lies in us living simpler lives. Not to do so means that future generations will mine archaelogical rubbish dumps to extract minerals that will be even rarer in the lode.
Along those lines - who will explain to future generations that there is no oil for lubrication because we burnt it all up in traffic jams.
