Sounds familiar. When my Nana came to visit us in Sligo Ireland she fell and hurt her ankle. The doctors in our local hospital just said she just sprained it and strapped it up. She was in terrible pain but we were told it would stop being so painful once the bruising went down. She had go back home to England on her own as Mum couldn’t go with her because she couldn’t get a seat on Nana’s plane. When she got home her ankle was 4 times its normal size and so bruised she couldn’t walk. Her daugher my auntie took one look at her at the airport and took her to her local hospital. One x ray later they told her her ankle was broken in 3 places. Our hospital had somehow missed it and made an 83 year old lady walk around and go a plane with a broken ankle.
