We’ve always trained our dogs to shake off water on the “shake” command. Quite helpful with a closed shower curtain after baths. Slick down the wet fur from the ears to the hackles to get them to shake, then liver treat.
I also had my two Labs trained to shake off on command. Useful before getting in the car or house after a walk in the rain. You’re not getting in until you shake off one more time! The look a friend got when he held out his hand and asked one to “shake” with him was priceless! “Well, okay, but you know I’m not at all wet, right?” (I had to encourage my boy to actually obey this since he wasn’t inclined to obey just anyone. It was a very half-hearted shake at best, but he complied.) Like, wtf Mom?
