We had a fighter pilot ‘helmet’ back then. White, with black USAF and the Air Force symbol on the top front. It had an oxygen mask, and tented face shield you could pull down. I had completely forgotten about it until I just now saw this. That is why I love this comic so much! Many thanks Brian!

speaking of helmets,I unsuccessfully spent lots of time looking for a goldfish bowl that would fit.

In 64-66 my closet had a floor at the top of the door and a small closet above that I could get into from the top of my bunk bed. That was my space capsule. Must have been deprived I did not have a helmet.

There you go, my little darlings, always thinking about space, even sick!

Awww . . back in the day when we kids just knew there would be space colonies on Mars, deep space exploration and all kinds of exciting stuff. Adulthood was pretty much a letdown.

What an excellent idea, Rover! Now you boys can enjoy the trip more knowing the surgeon approved it.

I always wanted tunnels out of my closest and under my bunkbed like Hogans Heroes.
