My point was that things get made up by every side, and those who get their info from only one source believe such things and they become as solid as the truth. The Al Gore “I invented the internet” rumor is no more or less a real factor in anything other than a previous poster’s joke. Al has said many more “wild and ignorant things” as well, as has the current US Vice-President. It seems in politics in the US, that’s one of the best ways to advance oneself, that is, by making wild and ignorant statements which wild and ignorant people believe, or convert into wilder and more ignorant statements in which they believe.
