They could have taken a series of single frame stop action pictures and made an animated weather map, but it took 3 days to process the film.
This is starting to look like a Family Circus cartoon.
I’m actually old enough to remember when the TV meteorologists would DRAW on a map with a big black marker like this… a la “Stu Tracy” on KPHO TV 5 in Phoenix, AZ, circa 1979
