If Dad blows every capillary in his body Calvin won’t have to worry about anything except maybe Dad’s funeral. Then he can wait for his inheritance and buy a new pair for himself.
Calvin’s level of creativity is extremely well developed, but his ability to see how his actions may turn out (executive planning) is a bit stunted – even at this age.
The word is “binocular,” not a “pair of binoculars,” which means two binoculars. The prefix “bi,” from the Latin bini, means double or two. Add it to “ocular,” from the Latin oculus, meaning eye, and you’ve described a two-eyed instrument. A binocular.

Calvin… when telling Dad, just stop at “I dropped them”. Dont ever give the inquisitor any more than necessary.
