Abby: You get 6 points for a win, 3 points for a tie, 1 point for a shutout, and 1 point each for the first three goals. Peri: The top point-getters advance to the semis. Peri's dad: What happens if there's a total point tie? Abby: It goes to the team that won when they played each other. Peri: If they tied, you compare their total tournament goals scored. Abby: If that's the same, you compare goals scored against. Edith: And if that's the same, the team that can best understand this tote board advances.

Agreed, Chikuku! Sad how some of the media write like it’s the end for interest in women’s soccer. Second place in the world, for Heaven’s sake!

What’s worse is all the consoling by saying the Japanese girls deserved the win cause of all the bad things in their country lately. They make more cars in our country than we do. We can just look at it like USA 2 won. Or we could ask exactly how much tragedy is needed for karma to give the win the the USA.
