Peter: Mom, you don't have to make a federal case out of this. I didn't mean to say "I did good." Andy: And what should you have said Peter: "I did well." Andy: Much better. Look Peter, I jump on you like this because I'm a writer, and as such, language means a good deal to me. It governs how we communicate; it influences our culture; it gives us a form through which we can express ourselves. Grammar should be revered, not mangled. It's just too important. I hope I'm making sense. Peter: You're coming through real clear. Andy: Obviously not.
