They give the busy person the work, kid. It’s a life lesson. Get used to it…

All Canadians donate to our national public radio. But then again our NPR (the CBC) has NHL games.

And, thank goodness! I live in Michigan and CBC comes with the cable! Thank you!

PBS has been pushed into a tough spot because so many people only donate around the special programming. And, everyone is more than willing to believe that someone else will pay for the content they take advantage of. The U.S. could be like Canada and U.K. and simply add a tax for TV and Radio. Because, Americans love more taxes! Thank you to everyone who actually donates to your local public radio station (and subscribes to the local newspaper). You make a difference!

Got to admit I’m a little disappointed in Frazz. This was the perfect set up for Robert Browning or Andre Gide.

This reminds me of my niece, who was an excellent speller as a little girl. Her class would get 25 spelling words on Monday, and on Tuesday the teacher would give a “pre-test” so the students would know which words they needed to work on. Students who spelled all 25 correctly on Tuesday would get an extra 5 words to spell for the final test on Friday. My niece soon realized that she got no extra credit for the 5 extra words, so on the Tuesday pre-test, she would always miss one word so that she wouldn’t get the extra five. My sister finally looked at her test and saw that my niece missed a word and asked “how did you miss that word? I know you know how to spell it.” My niece explained her logic, and my sister actually went to the teacher and explained what was happening. I forget whether the teacher did anything though, but I thought that was interesting.

Our culture even now has a problem with anyone who shows any intelligence and education beyond some arbitrary norm. Like our Scherzo here badgering people to fit in what he considered normal. Disgusting to me.
