There are lots of restaurants of all types who don’t allow strangers to use the private washrooms reserved solely for staff. Even if outsiders are allowed, a restaurant has to be careful of who is on the premises. The server obviously didn’t know the customer, either. He threw in the request for ’ a tip’ to de- escalate the situation.
The main reason those went away was women almost always had to spend a p̶e̶n̶n̶y̶ dime, while men mostly didn’t, and someone lost a discrimination suit.
Sorry, guess I’m behind the curve … what’s the small logo (looks like a “J” with dingle-balls – er, reverse dingle-balls?) in the lower right corner of the last panel?
In big cities most restaurants have a customer only bathroom policy, if they didn’t they would be overrun with homeless people, especially San Francisco with it’s gentle homeless policy. Wonder how long it will be before SF’s tourist attractiveness dies. I mean really websites with turd maps on them?
