Go for the megaphones and save a few samolians. They’ll accomplish what you need AND tork off everyone around you. And those people are jerks who deserve it.

Where is “Say What Now?” when you really need her to comment? :-)

Just nod your head periodically when you see someone whose lips appear to be moving and go about your business.

Get an ear trumpet. You can find them for around twenty dollars online.

An old fella I knew took out his hearing aids when he went to eat lunch with his wife. He said, “there are some things I don’t need to hear.”

Those megaphones come in handy when trying to get the waiter’s attention.

Neither, they can just text me.

Go for the hearing aids, don´t tell your family. And change your will.

With small grandchildren around, hearing aids with either volume control or on/off buttons are great!

Or, for $20, a small white board and dry-erase markers…
