My old place had an atrium. Every year a mama duck would lay her eggs there. Then when they hatched many in the company would march them down to the pond.

At the old Peabody Hotel in Memphis Tn,at the same time every morning, marching music comes over the PA system and a troop of ducks come marching out to the fountain in the center of the lobby and swim there for the day and, in the late afternoon, the music starts up again and the ducks march out in perfect formation! It is certainly a sight to behold!

I wonder if the mother is banded? It seems that one of the ducklings could be returning; appearing to be he mother. It seems a 15 year old duck, would be extremely old (In duck years).

What’s up with the oddly tall protesting kid? Is one standing on the other’s shoulders?
