or just highlight and copy them from somebody else’s post (ie steal…. er…. I mean borrow them…)

 

In some browsers, or sometimes just on a whim of GoComics, typing Alt 14 sends you back a page and loses your comment,

so I actually prefer to paste it in.

 

You can Google “alt codes” and find stuff like £, ♥, and ¿…

On some web sites you might get something different from what the charts say…

like I can’t make a couple in here that I know by heart.

 

There are also charts of “HTML entities”…..

which is what you call codes like   (the non-breaking space used for line breaks).

 

Putting in actual emoticons from a chart or a phone keyboard is very iffy on GoComics…

and that includes a few other musical notes and symbols that sometimes work and sometimes not.
