DNA is densely wound and packed. You also have RNA or Ribose Nucleic Acid. There are messenger and transfer types of RNA. Transponsons and much much more. Ever since I saw a drawing of the double helix of DNA I just knew then, in junior HS, that they could be intelligently manipulated. Why I would be for a Mesazoic Park and disagree with Michael Creighton. I might have been Dr. Wu or one of the geneticists from iNgeN.
