In a fall 2003 fundraising letter sent to Republicans, from Diebold CEO Walden O’Dell: “I am committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president.”
True Story. I read this in the Hightower Report. Since the event happened a couple of decades ago, I don’t remember all the names involced; other than ta-da Diebold. There was a mayoral election in a small town in Arizona. The politicians involved both belonged to local, community political parties, neither Republican nor Democrat. It was a foregone conclusion that the current mayor would win the election because he was very good at his job and well-liked in the community. His opponent ran just on principal and for no other reasom. The opponent won by. more votes than there were people in the county!
