The scary part is that there are people born and educated in the US who condone his behavior and would vote for him again. The inequity caused by the US supply side (neoliberal) economy which both parties endorsed, has effectively excluded the middle-class in terms of wages and benefits and created an opportunity for an irrational ideology that scapegoats the immigrant rather than the wealthy as the cause.

The idea, super…., that supply side is supported by the Dems is ludicrous. Dems support regulation of rampant capitalism and taxation of the wealthy, who can afford it. Dems have fought against supply-side for years. That’s a Repub concept along with trickle-down which has yet to work.

Thing is, super, if you put policies in the would result in increased wage levels for salaried workers, you are going to get the Right screaming about “forced redistribution of wealth” and socialism, and all that kind of rightwing hysteria. We see it everyday on these boards, and I’m fairly sure that the loudest screamers aren’t themselves in the 1% but figure that they will be if the playing field is level (but they haven’t figured out what it takes to level that field).

What a sad, sad commentary here. It both supports and refutes that old poetic quote “This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper.” We’ve actually found a way to do both.
