I don’t get it. The only thing I can figure is that the deer crossed just before the sign, instead of just after it? Sorry, this one’s a dud IMO.

My aunt hit one with her van. Most of the women she told asked, “Ah, did it hurt the poor deer?” All the men asked, “Did you get any of the meat?”
theROnin, The humor is the idiot on the phone calling to complain about where the deer crossed.
I wish I could read the license plate - Blazek usually hides additional humor in the background.
As a member of PETA*, I object to this comic! The sign should have warned drivers to have more robust bumpers - so it was a clean kill. There’s room for all of God’s creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes…
