Well keep doubting yourself, because chocolate is bad for dogs. That’s why humans are there to eat all that harmful chocolate. You are one lucky dog Fred.
I’ve had a lot of dogs over the years and I never had one get sick on chocolate. Daniel loved malted milk balls. Others had their own personal preferences but if given judiciously and not allowing overindulgence, there was no problem.
Actually, come to think of it, probably I have had occasion to get sick on chocolate far more than my poochies. Of course there is where the occasional overindulgence comes in, with me.
Maybe we should just say that chocolate can be bad for people too. And for the same reason….too much of a good thing.
Can somebody please contact Arran Graham (the author) and plead with her to stop the chocolate references. It would be so easy for a child to read this and give their dog chocolate. And don’t think the kid will pay attention to how much, whether it’s dark, milk chocolate…it simply is TOTALLY STUPID to keep mentioning chocolate treats for dogs. Move on Arran - come up with something else (beyond this, it’s simply getting boring). Thank you

Don’t do it Fred. Chocolate’s not good for you anyway.

As I’ve said before, I knew a Sheltie who ate a whole pound of chocolate truffles in a couple minutes. It didn’t bother him in the least.

Grapes and sugar-free gum is also very bad for dogs. Meat flavored gum is OK.

Dark chocolate can be deadly; light or milk chocolate, not so much. But they would have to eat a LOT.

Depends on the dog. My dog would snatch Easter baskets all the time, no matter how far out of reach you hid them, and she never ever got sick.

When my youngest grandson was three, he fed m&ms to my dogs, one at a time. The dogs were fine.
Choc drops are treats made for dogs using carob bean instead of chocolate.
