hahaha, though apropos, the correct answer would be Harry Reid, Majotiy Leader of the US Senate.

I’ll give her this much…she certainly has the Republican lack of compassion down pat.

I think it’s any Senior senator. NO matter which side. They both have scapegoats. Although some do stand out more than others: Gingrich, Pelosi, De Lay, Thurmond, Kennedy, etc…

I am become DANAE and my aspect is terrible as my attribute is to engender migraines in whomever I encounter.

FYI: It does seem to be a negative trend if you start at ‘nothing’ and then add “even less”!

I have counted my blessings many times on my decision not to have children. If I did, my fate would most likely have provided me with a migraine inducing child. Fortunately I can’t feel their pain.

The only figure she could accurately reflect would be Nancy Pelosi. After all, Danae has a mentality that wants to rule the world but has a complete lack of reality and says the craziest things. If she had it her way she would never age, too. She drives everyone around her crazy and everyone dreads anything that she’s conceptualizing. Sorry, that’s Pelosi to the tee.

If she were a bit more caring and slightly less crazy, and liked to shoot things, then maybe Palin. But Danae is a perfect characterization of Pelosi.

What’s with all the anti-Danae sentiment? She’s a clever girl who uses her wit to get out of doing hard work, is a bit rebellious, and has many amusing ideas of how she would run the world (conveniently for the comic strip), but she’s not evil, and certainly has displayed compassion. She just needs a few mentors as she grows up who can keep up with her and help guide her energy in useful directions.

Sorry to feel the need to defend a fictional character, but there are probably enough real girls who are a bit like her in some ways that I just can’t help myself.

America–rapidly heading the same way as the Roman Empire!

Have you ever read Orson Scott Card’s Empire? It gives a chilling scenario on how close the US could be to a dictator.

OTOH, the Romans took about 75 years to go from warlords to Emperor.

So many here spend all of their time pointing fingers at each others’ parties, and they fail to recognize that it isn’t the direction that changes (it never is), but rather the degree by which the government enslaves us and destroys what it is supposed to mean to be a citizen of the United States. Both parties have kept us on the same path towards despotism, but partisan fools (as so many of you are) keep saying that it’s the Republicans or it’s the Democrats who are crushing our constitution and destroying our heritage of freedom and liberty.

When will you realize that BOTH parties are ruining this country, and that we must do an about-face, and move BACK? Those who say that we mustn’t go back, and we’ve come too far to go back are the very ones who are taking us towards serfdom, and are ruining us. The United States government was designed to SERVE us, but today it’s the other way around. If you are tired of the status quo, STOP VOTING ACCORDING TO PARTY, and start demanding that we have people in our government who care about the constitution and our freedoms.

Richard R is right on - lazyness does produce new inventions, but in politics it also just creates boondoggles. We need to find people who have practical plans. Danae often seems to have the “Mr Obvious” vibe however.

yohannbiimu, you’re absolutely right. Read #10 of the Federalist for Madison’s warning about the danger of political parties (he called them ‘factions’). Note that one area where bipartisanship prevails is in things like the McCain-Feingold Incumbency Protection Act.
