Since a lot of hospital administrators think it’s pretty much only about occupancy rates (hospitals even Pre-COVID 19 often had a lot more patients than beds. Both necessary and elective cases. Just like hotels – waiting for “cancelations”) and doing business this isn’t too far off the mark. I know too many people who were rushed through procedures or pushed out of hospital too soon (and several of them died because of it). I wouldn’t have believed it unless I had seen it. And experienced it. And far more than once, or twice, or three times, or… Yet the money and grants keep rolling in. Pay attention to your medical care and records – nobody watches out better for you than you (and that ought to scare the crap outta you) and never trust an opinion you disagree with without getting another opinion. Yes, Virginia there are really hospitals who’d rather quietly settle out of court than change policy. “Well, it’s not like it’s a matter of life and death now, is it?” Uh… hey! Wait a minute there…
